AFCAT

The Lakshya Academy provides the Best Coaching for Afcat in India. Description

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test)

The AFCAT exam is conducted twice every year by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and millions of students appear to ace this exam and join a reputable Air Force Academy and get a commission as an Indian Air Force Officer. This exam has brought out the possibility of serving in an adventurous field for both male and female candidates which are befitting of the Young minds and flexibility of this dynamic generation.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

AFCAT eligibility criteria for Ground Duty and Flying Branch posts are given below.

(A) Age Limit

(i) Flying Branch: Applicant age should be at least 20 years and the upper age is capped at 24 years for flying branch. The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable for up to 26 years.

(ii)Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: For ground duty, the minimum age is 20 years and the upper age limit is capped at 26 years

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

(B) Educational Qualification

Flying branch: Minimum 50% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a three-year degree in graduation OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches

Candidates applying for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) must check the educational qualification given below :

Administration

  1. Passed Higher Secondary Examination
  2. Bachelor’s Degree with 60% marks in any discipline from a recognised university.

Or

Aeronautical Society of India or section A and  B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Education

  1. Passed Higher Secondary Examination
  2. Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline and 60% marks in Graduation in any disciple.

Meteorology

The educational qualification for meteorology is given below

  1. Passed Higher Secondary Examination
  2. Post Graduate Degree in any Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology/Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in all papers.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}.

Candidates with a minimum of 50% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the notified disciplines.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. Candidates with a minimum of 50% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the notified disciplines.

(iii) Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches.

   Weapon Systems (WS) Branch.

Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and (aaa) Graduation with a minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Administration& Logistics.

Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Accounts Branch.

Passed 10+2 and done graduation in any of the following streams with 60 % marks or equivalent from a recognized university:- (1) B. Com Degree (Min three years course).

(2) Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance) (aac) Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA. (aad) B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.

 

Standard and Syllabus of the Examination:

(i) Syllabus

 (aa) English. Comprehension, Detecting Errors in Sentences, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct words, Synonym/ Antonym, Cloze Test or Fill in the Gaps in a paragraph, Idioms and Phrases, Analogy, Sentence Rearranging, Substitution in a Sentence/ One Word Substitution.

(ab) General Awareness.

History, Geography, Sports, National & International Organisations, Art & Culture, Personalities, Environment & Ecology, Indian Polity, Economy, Basic Science Based Knowledge, Science & Technology, Current Affairs (National & International), and Defence.

(ac) Numerical Ability.

Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average/ Percentage, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Simple and Compound Interest, Time & Distance and Races (Trains/ Boats & Streams), Area and Perimeter, Probability, Number System & Number Series, Mixture & Allegation Rules, Clocks.

(ad) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning

(ii) Standard.

The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The middle of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
